i might be biased as a St. Louisan, but Ozzie Smith was underrated as a total player, not just his defensive prowess. Did you know he finished with more total hits than Mickey Mantle? You can see the Wizard loved defense. Too bad those days are over. Thank you for posting this clip. I loved the Baseball Bunch.

This video aired in 1982. Hard to believe.

I remember watching these every Saturday. Fat Albert was the last cartoon of the morning/afternoon….and the Baseball Bunch came on right after. Then me and the old man would go out and have our OWN lessons.

I Wonder What the Chicken Would Say if he Could Talk?

This episode was one of the few VHS tapes I had in 1987. There was no traveling league, no fall ball, no one on one private lessons. This was my baseball teaching and I recall almost every minute of it.

I don’t recall watching this episode as a kid, but that is exactly how I learned to play short stop…and just this summer I started to teach my 5 year old son to do the same. Funny because The Wizard was my fav player growing up

Why didn’t you use a ladder?
He did.
Why didn’t you use a trampoline?
He did.
Why didn’t you even try to pole-vault it?
He did.
Why didn’t you even try this, chicken?
HUH?
